We are delighted to introduce Mr Luke Schoff as the fifth Principal of St Andrews Lutheran College.
Mr Schoff brings a wealth of experience as an educational leader, having worked in various Australian states and international schools in Japan and China. Most recently, he was the Principal of St James Lutheran College in Hervey Bay, where he had held the role since 2017.
Mr Schoff commenced his career in education at St Andrews Lutheran College and is excited to be returning to serve the community again given that the College was a major driver in his formation as an educational leader.
Fundamental to his approach as an educator, is ensuring that all learners have access to quality learning experiences, so that their God-given abilities can be enriched to serve others. This involves ensuring that a diversity of students can flourish, through rich personalised learning in contemporary learning environments.
I believe we need to be developing students who engage in deep, analytical and critical thinking. They need to be risk takers, who value feedback and learn from mistakes. Students need to have agency in their learning and be curious and creative problem solvers.
Outside of school, Mr Schoff can be found in the kitchen working on his home chef skills, supporting the road and track cycling community, travelling to food destinations or supporting his AFL team, Carlton.
Mr Schoff, his wife Emily and their children Harry and Oscar, have always loved the southern Gold Coast and are excited to be returning to this community.
With his signature strengths of Kindness, Spirituality, Honesty, Teamwork, and Leadership, Mr Schoff is certain to make a profoundly positive impact on our College community.
As a leader of St Andrews I will: Lead by example and serve others by using my God-given gifts and talents for the community. Promote excellence in learning through contemporary learning and teaching practices. Lead young people to take responsible action as a result of their learning.
